THE DOLPHIN FIELD LAB

A good sensor.
A dependable setup.

The missing step between choosing a sensor and trusting it on your machine. Connect, investigate, test—and leave a clear handover.

01 / INSTALLATION CHECK

Make the interfaces agree.

Three details reveal many installation conflicts. Unknown information stays unknown.

Your installation

Isolate before altering wiring. These checks compare recorded fields; they do not approve an installation or a safety function.

Screening checklist4 details to confirm
CONFIRM THIS DETAIL

Add your actual supply

Catalogue: 5-40 VDC. Enter the supply type and nominal voltage you intend to use.

CONFIRM THIS DETAIL

Identify the controller input

The sensor has a PNP output. Choose the input's supported sensor type from the controller manual.

CONFIRM THIS DETAIL

Confirm the required switching state

Choose whether the output should be on or off in the detected state, then verify the selected sensor’s actual switching definition.

CONFIRM THIS DETAIL

Exact wiring still needs confirmation

This lab will not invent pin numbers or wire colours. Request the exact drawing before wiring.

OUTPUT PRINCIPLE

PNP and NPN are current paths.

PNPSensor supplies the positive signal.+V → sensor → input → 0V
NPNSensor provides the path to 0 V.+V → input → sensor → 0V

Conceptual paths only. Use the exact sensor and controller drawings for terminal assignments.

YOUR SENSOR / MECHANICAL CHECK

Installation matters as much as range.

Test the actual metal

Material, target size and approach affect the usable distance. Do not treat the nominal range as a guaranteed setting distance.

Look around the sensing face

Nearby metal and neighbouring sensors can affect detection. Use the exact product’s mounting and spacing instructions.

TERMINAL EVIDENCE

No guessed pinouts.

A connector shape, wire colour or output label does not establish the complete wiring. This panel only displays a map when the selected product’s current terminal record is verified.

Bring the evidence.
We’ll work through it with you.

A clear brief helps the team understand the installation before suggesting the next step.
